Big brother, true friend

Updated: Jun 28, 2020

[by Helen]

Les, my big brother and true friend.

We grew up together, 18 months apart.  What a happy childhood we had, especially the long summers in Belmar: feeding ducks & swans, walking on cobblestone roads, swinging down awnings, playing cards with grandma rose, building forts behind hedges, swimming at the beach, riding bumper cars at asbury park, getting ice cream from the good humor truck and having fun together.

I will think of you when I see a grateful dead logo, or egg over easy, or long grey beard, or Seinfeld, or lovely tree. I will think of you when I hear birdsong or "H" or a lonesome train whistle.

You're home to me.

H
