"Life is just time and space."
It's his way out of saying, "It is what it is."
He used it in different contexts. I would ask him his thoughts about life and existence, the esoteric stuff. I knew he was Jewish but I didn't understand his beliefs. He would also just bring it up from time to time.
It's like, life is what you make it. It's about your time here on earth. Everything is just time and space. Every time he would say it and I would say, "Oh I get it now." Then he would apply it to something new.
It was like the never ending lesson.
